The Dean's Council has two fundamental purposes: 
1) to act as an advocate for graduate students, and 
2) to organize and fund social events.  

While student advocacy is an important and ongoing concern, the Dean's Council impacts most students primarily through the sponsoring of parties, movie nights, BBQs and social outings.
