Current Graduate Students

We invite you to read the comments below from our current graduate students regarding their graduate studies in the Division of Biological Sciences and about their experiences at the University of Chicago.

The University of Chicago Biomedical Sciences Program contains numerous world-class investigators conducting cutting-edge research. The program provides first-class core facilities, a variety of research opportunities and regular interaction with investigators who are leaders in their respective fields. Furthermore, these professors are deeply interested in my development as a scientist, as they have never declined an invitation to discuss science whether it is while walking through the halls or when I knock on their door. Additionally, the fellow graduate students provide a great support system and community which further augments my PhD experience.

Lisa Nelis

I was attracted to the University of Chicago because of the freedom we have here to study almost anything we want, even if it involves research halfway around the world! My research focuses on the interaction among invasive species on Robinson Crusoe Island, Chile.

Lisa Nelis, Committee on Evolutionary Biology
