Application Process
Please submit your completed application by the deadline of December 1.

Graduate program information and FAQ: Please be aware that applications will not be mailed out. Check through the FAQ before emailing a question to the biosci-grad-affairs@bsd.uchicago.edu.

One application may be submitted for an individual department within a cluster or to a cluster as a whole. If you are interested in more than one department within a cluster, we recommend application to the whole cluster. If you are interested in multiple departments in more than one cluster, you may apply to those separate programs.

Applicants may apply to a maximum of four individual departments or two clusters on one application form, listing their choices in order of preference.

The Office of Graduate Affairs will assume responsibility for distributing the application to all relevant Units. Notification to the applicant of the Division's decision will await the recommendations of all Units involved in the review.
For an application to be considered complete, the Division requires the following:

All post-secondary education official transcripts in the original language (with an authorized translation, if the native language is not English)

Official certification of all post-secondary degrees attained.

Three letters of recommendation which can be done electronically or manually.

Official notification of recent GRE general examination scores, submitted directly to the University by the Educational Testing Service. Institution Code is 1832. The Department Code is 0299 for Biological Sciences, which routes it to our office.

Official GRE Subject test scores are required for Medical Physics applicants. |

|
The application fee of $55 US dollars.

Original notification of English language competence (TOEFL or IELTS scores or transcripts showing successful completion of a graduate level year of study taught in English), if the applicant's native language is not English. The institution code is 1832.
