Requirements for Admission

All applicants for graduate study in the Division of the Biological Sciences must have a bachelor's degree, or the equivalent, from a college or university of recognized standing.

Evidence of a sound background in the candidate's intended field of study is important, as well as academic credentials suggesting that the applicant has the ability to pursue advanced study and research successfully.

Previous research experience, while not required, is considered an asset.

Applicants to all programs are required to take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) **The results of the GRE are valid for 5 years.

GRE Subject scores are optional except it is required for Medical Physics. If you will be applying for an NSF grant, the subject score is required.
- The Health Studies Masters Program requires an MD degree and the GRE is waived.
