Requirements for Admission

  • All applicants for graduate study in the Division of the Biological Sciences must have a bachelor's degree, or the equivalent, from a college or university of recognized standing. 

  • Evidence of a sound background in the candidate's intended field of study is important, as well as academic credentials suggesting that the applicant has the ability to pursue advanced study and research successfully.

  • Previous research experience, while not required, is considered an asset. 

  • Statement of purpose

  • Applicants to all programs are required to take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) **The results of the GRE are valid for 5 years.

  • GRE Subject scores are optional except it is required for Medical Physics. If you will be applying for an NSF grant, the subject score is required.

  • The Health Studies Masters Program requires an MD degree and the GRE is waived.
  • Test of English Proficiency
